About the Journal

Focus and Scope


The Journal Ensaios e Ciência (ISSN 2178-695X and 1415-6938) is published continuously and covers the areas of AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND ANIMAL SCIENCES, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES AND BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES.

Mission


To facilitate the public registration of knowledge and its preservation; To publish research results involving ideas and new scientific proposals; To disseminate information and knowledge generated by the scientific community; To streamline the process of scientific communication in the agricultural and related areas.

Peer Review Process


Articles are evaluated by external ad-doc consultants in the research area of ​​knowledge, from national and foreign educational and/or research institutions, with proven scientific production. After due corrections and possible suggestions, the article is accepted if it has two favorable reviews and is rejected if two reviews are unfavorable. In the case of one favorable and one unfavorable opinion, the article may be forwarded to a third consultant and/or to the Editorial Board.

Evaluation Guidelines


1. Is the subject matter addressed in the article relevant to be published by the journal?

2. Is the article original?

3. Does the title clearly and sufficiently reflect the content of the article?

4. Are the presentation, organization, and size of the article satisfactory?

5. Does the introduction review the topic addressed and make the purpose of the work clear?

6. Is the material and methods item clear enough to allow the article to be reproduced?

7. Is the discussion pertinent and sufficient?

8. Do the data justify the interpretations?

9. Is there a need to add any item that could enrich the article?

10. Is it necessary to reduce or remove any part of the article?

11. Are the illustrations and tables necessary and pertinent?

12. Are the figures illustrative and of good quality for reproduction?

13. Are the keywords appropriate for the article?

14. Does the abstract provide good information about the work?

15. Are the references appropriate and necessary?

16. Are the references written in accordance with the journal's standards?

17. Are the authors referenced in the text cited in the references?

18. Were any notes made in the manuscript?

19. Ethical and Biosafety Aspects: Does the manuscript involve experimentation with human beings, animals or biosafety in a way that requires analysis of its ethical implications? ( ) Yes ( ) No If so: Does the article adequately address the ethical or biosafety aspects involved? ( ) Yes ( ) No

20. Opinion regarding the publication of the article:

Unfavorable;

Favorable (the work is accepted for publication);

Favorable, as long as the indicated reformulations are met, and the following suggestions may be followed.

Open Access Policy


This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Indexed in: Google Scholar, LATINDEX, Periódicos Capes, LivRe, Miguilim, Diadorim and AGROBASE.

APCs (ARTICLE PROCESSING FEE) AND SUBMISSION FEE

The Journal Ensaios e Ciência: Ciências Biológicas, Agrárias e da Saúde does not charge authors any type of submission and/or publication fee.

 

Digital Preservation

The Journal Ensaios e Ciência adopts formal digital preservation policies to ensure continuous and secure access to its scientific content over time.

Currently, the journal is:

Included in the Keepers Registry, an international system that monitors the preservation of digital journals, ensuring that their content is archived by trusted institutions.

Preserved by the Cariniana Network, coordinated by the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (Ibict), which uses LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology to maintain multiple secure copies of published articles.

These initiatives guarantee the integrity, authenticity, and longevity of the journal's digital collection, even in the face of technical failures or institutional changes.
